Activists and Green Party members from all over the state will be descending on Springfield on Tuesday, May 30th, for the final day of the 200-mile, 15-day March to Springfield organized by The People’s Lobby and Fair Economy Illinois.
Join us in a show of Green Party support for a People & Planet First Budget! The Green Party supports and endorses the March to Springfield, and we hope to see representatives from each and every one of our local chapters, as well as members-at-large from all over the state, at the final day in Springfield. We need a big turnout from DuPage!
There will be carpools and transit groups traveling in from all over the state on both Monday, May 29th (Memorial Day) and Tuesday, May 30th. Events include a listening session on the evening of May 29th, the finishing march on May 30th, and a Greens Night Out gathering after the March to Springfield events conclude.
Let us know you’re coming — and whether you need transport and/or lodging — by filling out our Green Party sign-up form! We’ll work with our local chapters and Springfield volunteers to make sure everyone gets where they need to be on time.
This will be a sizable gathering of Greens — one of the best chances outside of our Membership Meetings to get to know your fellow Greens, and stand with them in solidarity supporting a great cause. We’ll see you in Springfield!
Also, please consider donating (dupagegreens.org/donate) to the DuPage Greens. It takes lots of small individual donations from people like you to cover the expenses required to support candidates and grow the Green Party in DuPage County, since as I’m sure you know, we don’t take any big money special interest contributions so we can fight for economic, social, environmental, racial and democratic justice for everyone in DuPage County, not just the fat cats.
In these trying times with a neofascist takeover of the leadership of the most powerful nation in the world, it’s our duty to the 99% to provide a vigorous opposition to the two party tyranny, so…
