Leadership
The DuPage County Green Party's leadership, as both a member-based organization and an established party under Illinois Election Code, consists of both Party Leadership that is chosen by members of the party and a Central Committee that is chosen by voters in the primary election.
PARTY OFFICES
Co-chairs of the DCGP serve as representatives on the state party's Coordinating Committee.
Secretary organizes meetings, keeps various party records, promotes events, etc.
Treasurer keeps track of the party's finances and files disclosures with the state.
CENTRAL COMMITTEE
County Chair chosen by the elected precinct committeepeople, the County Chair is the party's main liason with the DuPage County Board of Elections. The chair can appoint precinct committeepeople and participates in "slating".
Township Chairs are responsible for convening their Township Caucus to choose candidates for a township election. They also listed as party contacts on the DuPage County Board of Elections Web site. Unofficially, Township Chairs are responsible for getting members in their townships out to meetings, and for getting out the vote in their areas.
Precinct Committeepeople are elected during the Green Party primary, and they serve for two years. Following the primary, elected precinct committeepeople gather to choose Township Chairs and a County Chair. All precinct committeepeople are eligible to become voter registrars. Precinct committeepeople are also involved in choosing replacement candidates, known as "slating".
